Insights Manager provides real-world visitation data to help you understand audience behavior and optimize location-based strategies. This guide covers how to access the platform, use the interactive map, onboard locations, and generate reports.
How to Access
- Request Access: Work with your GroundTruth representative to set up your account tenant and user permissions.
- Log In: Access the platform at https://insights.groundtruth.com/

Manage Location Sharing: Upon login, your browser may prompt you to share your location.
Using the Interactive Map (Home)
The homepage features an interactive map for instant trade-area exploration and competitive analysis.
⚠️ Note: If you have opted into location sharing, the map will automatically center on your current location. If you are currently located in an area with limited commercial activity (such as a residential neighborhood), simply zoom out to capture and display the business POI results in the surrounding trade areas.
- Search & Select: Input the business address into the search bar and select the correct result to shift the map view.
- Explore Surroundings: Once a location is selected, the map highlights the target business with surrounding locations.

View Business Details: Click on any business icon to view:
- Business Name & Category: The entity type and classification.
- Average Monthly Visits: The average number of monthly visits over the last year
- Busiest Time: Current trends based on the last 90 days of traffic
- Hourly Visit Peaks: Click through to view hourly distributions for specific days of the week.
- Privacy Note: Visitation data will not populate for Healthcare or Pharmacy categories due to privacy laws.

Filter & Customize:
- Categories: Use top toggles to filter for specific business types (Convenience Stores, Department Stores, Grocers-Retail, Home Centers, Hotels & Motels, Pharmacies and Drugstores, Restaurants, and Service Stations-Gasoline & Oil)
- Blueprint Legend: This helps reference the different colors blueprinted for each location. This can be collapsible by clicking the “stacked squares” icon.
- Heat Map: Click the "Fire" icon to see traffic density grow or shrink by day and hour.
- Recenter: Click the "Target" icon to recenter the map to your original location.
- Zoom: Zoom in and out for granular or high-level analysis.
- Map Views: Toggle between Satellite and Streets view
How to Add Locations
To generate reports, you must first define the locations you wish to analyze.

Select My Locations from the left navigation menu, then click “Add Location”
- Choose your method (3 options)

- Start entering a business name and address into the Your business address field.
- Choose the location that best aligns with your inputted details from the drop-down options.
- If the location is not available, click "Add a new location."

⚠️ Note: When in the “Home” page, viewing and using the interactive map, there’s an option to +Add individual locations from this view your “My Locations” (location groups) which can then be used to run an insights report.
Generating & Viewing Reports
- From the My Locations page, click the Blueprinted tab.
- Select the locations you want to include in the Insights Report.
- After locations are selected, click Run Insights button.
- In the "New Insights Report" sidebar:
- "Insight Name" field, enter what you would like to name the report for reference.
- Confirm the selected locations are those that you wish to include in the report, deleting locations you do not want to include.
- Click Run Insights button.
What to Expect
Timelines
- Lookback window: Reports cover a 120-day look-back window.
- Processing time: Please allow up to 5 hours for report processing.
- Generate a new report: Generate a new report by updating the location set or the date range.
Available Insights
All data is derived from raw visitation data observed across the blueprinted locations within your Location Group. These insights are not influenced by GroundTruth media, offering a pure view of visitation behavior. Metrics include:
- Time Breakdowns: Visits breakdown by day of week, time of day, and intervals
- Demographics: Age, gender, income distribution
- Geography: Top visited ZIP codes, Top home ZIP codes, Drive-to distance
- Affinity: Top performing stores, Top crossover brands, Top audiences
