Premium Audiences (Datonics)

Datonics is a third-party audience data provider available in Ads Manager. This article explains who Datonics is, what audience segments are available, how pricing works, where to find these segments in Ads Manager, and the key guidelines for using them successfully.

Overview

Datonics specializes in audience data for digital advertising. The provider builds audience segments using signals such as online behavior, purchase intent, interests, life-stage indicators, household attributes, political registration, and business-related characteristics. These segments help advertisers reach more relevant audiences when GroundTruth’s standard audience options do not fully cover the need.


Available Datonics Audiences in Ads Manager

Datonics audiences are available as Premium Audiences and are currently supported for the following media types: Mobile, Desktop, CTV, OTT, and Audio.

Step-by-Step Setup

To add Datonics audiences to your campaign:

  1. Create or edit an ad group using the Target by Audience tactic.

  2. Click Browse Audience Library in the Audience search bar.

  3. Expand the Premium Audiences category.

  4. Select your desired Datonics audience segments.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Premium (Datonics) segments should always be palced in a separate ad group from first-party audiences. Keep them isolated from GroundTruth standard audiences and ZeroToOne.AI predictive audiences. 

Bidding & Pricing

Using Datonics audiences incurs a premium audience surcharge of $1.50 CPM.

When setting up your campaign on the Budget & Schedule page, you must manually add $1.50 CPM to your bid price.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How much is the Datonics surcharge? The Datonics surcharge is a flat $1.50 CPM. When using these audiences, add $1.50 CPM to your bid in the Bid Price field within the Budget & Schedule section.
  2. Is the $1.50 CPM charged for each Datonics segment selected? No. The surcharge is a flat $1.50 CPM per ad group, regardless of whether you select one Datonics segment or multiple segments within that same ad group.
  3. Where do I find Datonics segments in Ads Manager? For ad groups using the Audience targeting tactic:
    1. Click Browse Audience Library.
    2. Expand Premium Audiences.
    3. Browse and select your desired Datonics segments.
  4. Can Datonics be used with all media types? No. Datonics audiences are currently supported only for Mobile, Desktop, CTV, OTT, and Audio.
  5. Can I mix Datonics with 1st-party audiences in the same ad group? No. Best practice is to keep Datonics audience segments in a separate ad group away from first-party audiences, including GroundTruth standard audiences and ZeroToOne.AI Predictive audiences.
